Street Photography
I love being on the streets shooting, finding things laid out for me rather than creating it in the studio. As a photographer, I feel it is my job to point out situations that are often missed. I am also interested in the way imagery is used in popular culture. We are bombarded daily by thousands of images, many of which are strong iconic stereotypical female images. Our society embraces images of women that are not representational of most of the population. I, myself, feel pressure to fit this mold.
I have been working on this series for about seven years. I feel the situation will not change, therefore I anticipate working on this series for many years to come.
