As a means of dealing with how time is affecting me, I have created this body of work. Not wanting to make a series of self-portraits, I have turned to the women around me. This body of work is about doubt of self-image. I set out to make beautiful images of women who don’t necessarily feel that they are beautiful. I have blurred the lines of time through spontaneous childlike gestures in my studio. Even though my subjects told me they were “too this” or “too that” they are happy with the results. So am I.
There have been Goddesses throughout time.
There are still Goddesses.
You already know them. They are your mother, lover, friend, neighbor, sister, teacher, daughter, getting the idea?
We are modern Goddesses.
